Fitment Guide: Find the Right Fantom Plate
Fantom plates come in two sizes, one for cars and one for motorcycles. Here’s how to choose the right one.

Vehicle plate (6x12)
The Fantom® Blackout License Plate V2.0 fits the standard 6x12 inch license plate used in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. That covers virtually every car, truck, SUV and van.
A free premium frame, only from Fantom. Every vehicle plate comes with your choice of a Carbon Fiber or Satin Black frame at no extra cost. No one else offers it. It’s a finished, factory look that matches your build, right out of the box.
Included with every vehicle plate:
- Wireless remote, to switch modes with one press
- Interior indicator light, so you always know which mode you’re in
- Carbon Fiber or Satin Black frame, free
- Battery and cigarette lighter power cables
- Mounting bracket and hardware. No drilling needed.
Front and rear plates? If your state requires two plates, the Two Pack covers both. It comes in Carbon Fiber or Satin Black.
Motorcycle plate (4x7)
The Fantom® Motorcycle Privacy Blackout Plate is sized for standard 4x7 inch motorcycle plates. It runs on your bike’s 12V battery.
A frameless, low-profile design. Instead of a frame, the motorcycle plate uses a silicone backing plate that holds the smart glass and your plate together. It keeps the setup slim and clean on the back of your bike. The silicone also absorbs road vibration, which protects the glass and the plate.
Included with every motorcycle plate:
- Silicone backing plate, which holds the glass and plate together and absorbs vibration
- Handlebar switch, for hands-free control without taking your hands off the bars
- Indicator light, so you always know which mode you’re in

Will it fit my vehicle?
Fantom plates fit standard-size plates. Before you order, check that:
- Your plate is the standard size: 6x12 inches for cars, 4x7 inches for motorcycles. Measure your plate if you’re unsure.
- Your plate area has mounting holes. Most vehicles do. If yours doesn’t, a standard plate bracket from any auto parts store gives you a mounting point.
- You have a path for the wiring. For cars, we recommend feeding the extension cable through the trunk’s license plate light opening, as shown in our Installation Guide. Our 13 ft extension cable reaches the front of virtually any vehicle.
Fantom plates won’t fit European-size plates (520 x 110 mm) or other non-standard and oversized plates.
